Any Hitchhiker's fans here?

BBC has made a new sequel to the original radio show. The first episode of the new series is now on line for streaming at the BBC web site. There are even 5.1 channel versions if you have a computer with suitable multi-channel sound resources.

Also, they have resurrected and updated the old Infocom text game. You can now play it on-line on the web.

Hey, Anders....it's been a long time since I've seen your name among the messages posted here.  Smiley

I was a fan of the old made-for-television version of Hitchhiker's.  Was just thinking the other day about buying the DVD.  I tried the old Infocom text game (one of my first games back in 1987, as a matter of fact) but lost interest.

The radio show is actually far superior to the tv show. You should really get the first two series on CD (regular audio CD). But stay away from the MP3 CD, also sold by BBC. The audio quality is awful on that one.

Still, the tv-show has its moments, even though it had a really low production budget. I find the computer animation segments from the "book" particularly interesting and entertaining. Everyone wanted to know what kind of computer they were made on. The answer is that they weren't made on a computer at all. They were all hand drawn... Smiley

I'm a huge fan of the Hitchhiker's series! I've got a VHS tape of the TV movie as well. Can't wait to listen to the link you provided. Sadly, I haven't got the time at the moment...
