I noticed that the Studios does have Island of Dr. Brain.. My Question is will we ever see the entire soundtrack of "The Castle"

Oh.. I have the Island of Dr. Brain, but I have seemingly misplaced the instructions and the codes to actually START the game..

PS: Could we also get the "Sierra Logo Music" ??

Thanks

The Sierra Logo music can be found at the start of many of the complete soundtrack MIDI files.

As far as the Dr. Brain series soundtracks, they would probably be one of the last MIDI soundtracks recorded by me (but there's several others here that record soundtracks.) I'd like to finish recording the music from the more popular games, and those with primarily MT-32 music support.   (i.e. Camelot, Heart Of China, Code-Name: Iceman, etc.)

Next on my list is CODE-NAME: ICEMAN.

Iceman! Yeaaaaah! Can't wait. I know you're recording them, but did Sierra ever send you any Iceman files?

I've actually got a few (or at least, one) SC-55 GS files from this game. Definitely the first Chi Chi Bar theme, with the steel drums and whistle. Converted nicely Smiley

Anyways, on-topic..

Likewise, for me, Castle of Dr. Brain would be around the bottom of my soundtrack recording list. Might do a 'Dr. Brain' CD with music from all 4 games some day in the distant future though..

I've got the 'Castle' soundtrack sent to me by Mark Seibert (one of the games I was lucky enough to receive the MIDI files from Seibert) and there's really very little music.. as a child, the first 10 times I played the game I never heard any music anyway, as the computers at my school probably didn't have speakers on.. might've heard some PC speaker effects. Certainly no Roland MT-32 goodness.
Anyways. There's the main theme, the computer room theme, the office theme (which I absolutely love, have a million good memories of, and will be recording for a special CD soon)..
/me checks his 'Castle' MIDI's.. wow, haven't loaded THIS patch bank in a looong time.
Ah yes, another Sierra musician parody of the 2001 song (which I'll have just before the warp sound effect and the Office music in my OGG), the Astronomy Room, the Sierra Fanfare, various Castle Halls (barely counts as music, very short loops with fairly boring instruments), Jigsaw puzzle, Robot room, Hangman game, various computer room themes, and some old unused tracks.

Unused tracks:
- Dr. Brain Rap
- Rock, an old version of the Robot theme I think
- Various old versions of the Dr. Brain theme
- An old version of Rock ;P

Some good stuff here! Definitely not enough to bother with a full soundtrack, but some nice themes regardless. Might send Tom a MIDI or three.

Thanks for the memories, ProK. Cheesy

EDIT: Dug up the old Dr. Brain 'Monolith/Office' OGG file I made back last year sometime. Great memories..

After reading through these posts and listening to the ogg file, now you've got me thinking about the Castle of Dr. Brain too.   Smiley

I'm going to have to go digging through cupboards to see if I can find it, I suddenly feel the urge to play it.  I have the Island too, but didn't like it as much as the Castle.  I am pretty sure I still have the original boxes too.

Well, that OGG is the best track in the game (Though the guitars are mixed, an ED one with the MT-32 one, if I recall correctly).
The theme's pretty good as well..

I've spent many hours playing *this* game, especially when I was younger. It's a lot of fun! Up there with LSL5 and SQ1VGA for me playing them incessantly.

I've actually got the original box for 'Castle'. One of the Sierra games I actually own.. I probably own half my collection. Don't have legal copies of most obscure games..

Anyway, Castle of Dr. Brain is a classic. Cole humour everywhere. See the plugs for QFG1/2? Smiley
