Does anyone here know of a utility to convert SJIS text to Unicode? I have some songs with SJIS tags, but my iPod only reads Unicode; and so far, I've had no luck in finding anything that can do this sort of conversion.

Well, Google finds this.

Combine it with an ID3 (I assume we're talking MP3) extraction/editing program and that should do it I suppose. You would need a shell script (In case Tom wants to ask, that's a fancy name for a batch file Wink) to glue it all together, though.

EDIT: This looks more promising:

Nah....I'm maxed at the moment on O.S.'s.  I don't want to know any more. :smt120

I'm running DOS v6.1, Win311, Win95, Win98SE, and XP on our systems and they all have their strange quirks to deal with.  Though I still feel most comfortable in DOS.  I like creating those cool batch files that transmit a SysEx file, load and play a MIDI file, and prints to screen neat text and colors while all that's being done.  It's how Dianne and I originally sent our music to each other by modem....way back in 1988, in ARC or PKZIP archives.  I'm still looking up stuff in my DOS manuals and they're never far from my PC.    (Pretty sad, I know.)

Ah, thank you, Laust! That second one looks useful. I'll give it a try.
