I would like to continue problem from here:
http://www.queststudios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=344

I know two games with this problem right now:

Super Fighter
Touche: The Adventure of the 5th Musketeer

Thanks to DOSBox emulator i found out that Prehistorik initiates MPU-401 UART mode and that's why you can hear music with both above games.

My question is: Do you think there are any mpu-401 interfaces that allow these two games to work with midi music without the need to run Prehistorik before running them (or any other program that will initiate UART mode) ?

(I have already checked LAPC-I, SCC-1, SBAWE32,  VIAUDIO)

Well, if you already tested those games with the above-mentioned devices (which are UART & "intelligent" mode capable), chances are you won't find any more MPU interfaces out there more suitable for the job. LAPC-1 and SCC-1 has true Roland "smart" mode and SB-AWE is UART. Let's be thankful in knowing that Prehistorik exists in order to get the MIDI initiated.

Using canadacow's MT-32 build of DOSBox, you should be able to get something that comes very close to the original MT-32 score.

It isn't perfect, but the issues that are there likely wouldn't be noticed by a "normal" person. ;-)
