If you're reading this message, the transfer of QuestStudios.com has succesfully propagated through the DNS system, and you're now connecting to a new server in my home.

Over the past few weeks, I've been transferring hundreds of digital (and other large files) from the QUESTSTUDIOS.COM, TREEWEASEL.COM, SHAFTNET.ORG, NETNET.NET, and BE-HOSTED.COM servers, and placing them all on one, new server.  That means, hundreds of links on the web pages had to be updated as well.  But with even the best and most careful intentions, there may be some links that weren't properly updated.  I would appreciate if you would let me know should you discover any dead links, anywhere on the site.

As usual, any feedback regarding any access problems in general are appreciated.  Also, I want to thank those of you who have helped with preliminary testing of the new server through the 'embroider-now.com' domain and the 'Test Message Board'.

Congrats on the successful move. I have done this before and it's always a nail biter.

Can you see me now?
Couldn't resist.
If I find a broken link, should I email you . . . or simply shout across the room?

Woah...now I see what you mean about the Avatars.  The database backup didn't save them; I had already uploaded mine to the server, and I was probably seeing others that where in my browser's cache.  Hmmm.

This means that everyone will have to reupoad their Avatar.  Only Laxdragon's and mine are in the Avatar Directory on the server.  Well, at least all the posts and members transferred properly.

Thanks, Martin.  Got 'em.  I think there's one more file there that I couldn't download; a video promo or something.  (It was hundreds of file transfers ago and I don't remember.)  But I'm pretty sure it was a .mpg file I couldn't access.  I'm not worried about it, though.

I believe I also (FINALLY) have all the Shaftnet.org files transferred and their links updated.  Whew!  That was a job.

The Larry8 video isn't mine -- don't remember ever wanting to promote the game, anyway, and I've never seen the video.

The LSL2 and SQ7 videos were the ones I was looking for.  Thanks.  I just finished transferring them.

I updated the MT-32 manual to a PDF a while back, so that one's taken care of.  (Nobody liked those 'TIF' files.)  Smiley

I was unable to find a link to that pgm15  soundfont on my previous website, or the current one ... so I'm not going to worry about that file, either.

Ever since I installed a CGI script and made some changes in the server's configuration file yesterday, I've been noticing some time outs and slow downs pretty regularly.  I'm going to uninstall and change those configuration settings back to what they were, as soon as I get home tonight.  Most of it has to do with how logs are kept, and it's not worth the hiccuping server to use them.

I'm also going to reboot the server after doing this, so we'll be offline for about five minutes....

Nice transition - I didn't even notice it until I read this thread.  It's too bad I don't live in Wisconsin anymore so I'm still in another state than the server.  Smiley

Oo, glad to be here. It's been a while. (Good thing the forum software sent me an e-mail. Smiley )

PS. Why have I, Marten and Dianne been members longer than Tom himself?

Hey, Swordmaster!  Good to see you again!

You've been a member longer than "Tom" because I originally used "Tom Lewandowski" as my user name...after changing it from 'Admin' on the old UBB system.  I dropped the last name, later.

I believe the Larry 8 video was a short clip of what would have been Al Lowe's Larry 8 game. It had Larry in 3D talking into a mic and it had the same voice actor as Larry 6 and 7.

I think I DID see that.  What a shame Al Lowe never got to pursue that further....
