I thought I'd share a preview of the upcoming Dagger Of Amon Ra digital soundtrack with everyone.  Smiley

Okay, that was cruel, I know.  Couldn't resist.

Thanks to Jay Grant, there's additional input with the CD artwork for 'Dagger'. He's just designed the CD's back cover art, and  there'll be a CD label coming as well. In addition, Jay has offered to help with other Sierra Soundtrack CD artwork!

THANK YOU JAY!!!

It's on the 'Dagger' CD-ROM, in the audio sfx subdirectory.  I've always wondered who's voices they are.  This Ogg is actually three files, combined, but I had remembered hearing it presented in this fashion before.  I believe Cindy Vanous had also sent a recording of this to me many years ago, but I didn't hunt through my files to find it since it's also on the game disc.

Ah yes, this is certainly familiar. These sound effects are from the notorious 'Cult of Amon Ra' found near the end of the game. Before you get asked your quiz questions. On the CD I'd include them (was going to myself anyway) with the MT-32's egyptian strings before the full melody plays.

Who's voices? Anyone, probably Seibert, and anyone else they could get to chant.

And Tom- would the recordings sent your way maybe be master recordings, at better quality, or would they just be in-game resources? I've often wondered if there's master digital songs like 'Cell Block Love' in better quality.

Regards,

I wasn't asking if the game CD's had 44 KHz stereo versions, Tom, I'm quite familiar with Sierra On-Line's method of storing CD resoruces (Rudy Helm said to me the other day why they did it).

I was merely querying if Cindy Vanous had maybe sent you something not available to the rest of us. A simple yes or no would've sufficed. Smiley

Except for a David Henry soundtrack for a game that was never released by Sierra (working title was, "Athyr"), all the WAV's and MP3's I received from Cindy (et al) were of the same quality as what was used in the game.  "Athyr" was sent to me as an audio CD, and David was still working on it.  He had asked Dianne and I to evaluate it, and he actually applied our responsis to an updated version of the title song.

I'd love to have high quality versions of The Ballade Of Freddy Pharkas and The Archaeologist Song.  Or even the March Of The Ants and Weeping Willow themes.  They had to exist, somewhere!  (Though, I'll bet Vivendi has probably wiped them from existance once they took over.)

And as well as those, I'd like Cell Block Love (LSL6), A Land Beyond Dreams (KQ7, as well as the other KQ7 digital stuff), anything from Shivers and Inca 3..

Cool story, by the way! Smiley I still think I haven't listened to anything by David Henry. One of the last artists I haven't heard. (Finally heard something by Callet the other day Smiley )

And Vivendi/Sierra- ick, don't get me started.
