Would QS consider releasing the scores to Leisure Suit Larry Casino and that latest game, Magna Cum Laude.

I didn't play Casino much since it sort of stank and don't remember if their was music or not.  As far as that Magna Cum Laude game, I also never played that and am not sure how the music sounds.

For the sake of completests and since QS did a great job of extracting Larry 1 - 6, it would be nice to have the other games as well.

In regards to Larry 7, using the suggestion on another thread, I made a very nice 44 Track rip.

So if anyone has any suggestions for ripping the music from Larry Casino and Larry Magna, could you post that.

Quest Studios could you also do a rip of the music from the original 1987 Version of Larry 1.  There wasn't much music, but having the original RAW version would be nice.  And why on the LSL soundtrack did you guys leave out some cues (Alley Way Brawl, Dog, and End Celebration credits)

Magna Cum Laude didn't really have much music. It had some during the cutscenes, but they include the sound effects and speech...
There was some music during the mini-games, but they were not made for the game. They were all songs taken from the last decade or so.

I don't have Magna Cum Laude, and I really have no plans on getting it.  So, I won't be extracting the music from it.  I really don't even consider it a Sierra game.  I also don't have Casino, but might be willing to pick it up if I saw it in a $5 bargain bin.

There wasn't a MIDI soundtrack in the 1987 release of Leisure Suit Larry In The Land Of The Lounge Lizards, nor a digital soundtrack.  That's why none is posted.

Can I assume you're referring to LSL1 VGA?  And are you referring to the MIDI soundtrack, or the digital soundtrack?  I don't typically record short (a few measures) themes to include in digital soundtracks.

I can't believe I didn't record the ending for the game, though.  I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, I was talking with someone about Casino this week. A friend burnt me the game in high school, and it sucked, so I never thought much about it. But there's probably some nice Al Lowe stuff in there.

The Alley brawl is cool, because of all the MT-32 sound effects. If I ever realise my dream of making a decent LSL1 CD, I'll put it on there as an optional track.

'The Doggie' is, as Tom says, a 3-measure loop or something, just 'Oh Where Oh Where has My Little Dog Gone' (bastardised by Braymen, admittedly Wink He rules).

I'll save you the time- there's no new music for the ending, just the main LSL1 theme with some MT-32 fireworks in there somewhere. Because there was no real ending, you made 'Eve' the Closing Theme (see: LSL1CD page). I would sugegst you already decided about this back in 1999. (LSL5 has the same annoying feature, though thankfully they canned it in LSL6 and gave us 'Big Band Larry'.)

Sometimes I feel like I know this place better than anyone else. Wink

What format was the original LSL music in?  I remember it came out of my PC Speaker only and their were a few pieces like the Title Theme, Alley Brawl, Little Dog and the End Credits.

It would be neat if there was a way to record that because that is the original Larry Theme there.

The original themes for LSL1 only supported the PC speaker, and back then, if you didn't have a Tandy or PCJr, you only heard one-tone instead of the three tone soundtrack.

i have LSL casino, however no idea how to rip the music from it. However I have nothing better to do so if someone explains it to me (i take it GAP can do the trick) i would be more than willing to extract it. i would just need a place to host it.

Well, since this is a fairly recent game, the music could well be on the CD as WAV files or something..

Check that first, and if there's none, simply use GAP.

I'll host it if you like. I was looking for LSL Casino tunes this week..

Cheers, not a worry. I actually don't remember the music and would just like to see if it's good quality LSL7-style stuff!

Let me know how it goes, as you can see on my profile I'm easy to contact.

okay, so i've sorted through over 8000 files of dialogue and still haven't found much as the way of music, however i still got a bit more to go.

as it stands it doesn't seem like there is any music worth getting (mainly because all the music that is there has casino ambiance playing over top) however i did find some really neat tracks i never heard because you can no longer get online. The highlight was a little peice i like to call Love Me Tender. lol

i also managed to find EVERY joke larry tells in the joke machine in your room.

at any rate, if i end up finding anything worth while i'll let you guys know.
