Hello all,

I am the newest member to the board, and would like to introduce myslef.  I am Dustin's brother, and as he is, I am very much into the older games from sierra. He set up an old 486 computer complete with his MT-32 (which adds quite a bit to the overall gaming experience). The most noteable game I played, was Space Quest 3 (with the Adlib music synthesizer card). Bob Siebenberg's music is incredible when it is heard from the MT-32 in it's full granger. Who else has great memories from playing these older games? I am trying to make a game of my own in the sierra likeness.

Best regards,

Mitch

Welcome, Mitch!  (Don't forget to help yourself to a doughnut while you're here.)

SQ3 holds fond memories for me because it was the second MT-32 supported game I ever played, right behind King's Quest 4.  I, too, first heard the soundtrack on an Ad Lib card...but still thought it was great.

What kind of adventure game are you making?  Are you using Chris Jones's AGS engine to make it?

SQ3 is my alltime favorate soundtrack, even though it's extremely short (as is the game). I had heard the MT-32 soundtrack first from Sierra's demo tape from 1988 and was blown away by it.
When I finally got myself a Roland LAPC-I back in 2000 and loaded the game, I was extremely excited. It was like playing the game for the first time. Smiley

SQ3 was one of those few soundtracks that really showed what the MT-32 was all about.

SQ3 was the first game that Mitch and I heard on our MT-32. We really couldn't believe what it was capable of.  It made the game much more fun.
As the Sierra demo tape said "With the right music, a computer game can come alive." SQ3 is a glowing testament to how true that really is.
