Hey there.

i finally put the complete QFG V sndtrk on my iPod using both the newly downloaded tracks and the ones i had off my original sndtrk cd.

firstly let me say the editing job was fantastic. i always planned on getting around to doing this but was far to busy/lazy.

my only question though is this,
is there anyway to get a higher quality version? some of the songs sound slightly compressed/muffled, perhaps they are just clipping slightly, or were just slightly over compressed, i dont know. the stuff with flutes and voices singing sound just a little...off...

needless to say, the work is amazing, and I applaud Tom and Zaenom for their hard work. i was just curious if there was a higher quality version availible somewhere.

let me jsut say this is much better than the version of the GK3 sndtrk i download via bittorrent. the quality was terrible, it clipped constantly and was virtually unlistenable.

great job! thanks for allowing me to listen to what is by far one of my favorite soundtracks.

now if i could just convince myself to finally finish up my GK3 soundtrack, so it isn't taking up 1.3 gigs of space on my HD.

To answer your question (a bit late), I only pasted or mixed (when it didn't loop well) tracks together. I didn't edit the sound quality. This is what you get when extracting the soundtrack with GAP. It comes out compressed already. I know some flutes and piano themes are kind of distorted when you put the volume high, but that's how you get it from GAP and I never tried to correct this.  :?

And it wasn't that much work. Editing audio is a lot easier than editing midi...

okay thanks!

i figured that was the case. i remember ripping these files before using a Te'Ja hex editing program in dos and i think it resulted in similar quality.

i just wanted to double check.

and once again, great job! this was always one of my favourite soundtracks and now getting to experience the whole thing is a blessing Smiley
