Might the PC version of Rise of the Dragon have been censored also? I ask due to a screenshot pictured in Sierra's 1991 catalog, "The Entire Spectrum Of Family Games...", which I've never seen in-game. Perhaps I missed it?

I have that catalog. Gimme a minute..

Geez, that took long enough. My Eco Quest 1 box was in storage.. Still, found it.

That scene looks like one out of the Pleasure Dome. Whether it's in the game or not, don't know. Lemme check.

EDIT: Will check game later.

Besides, the SEGA version is known to be censored BECAUSE of the PC version, as in, I've played both, and the SEGA version simply lacks scenes, such as the love scene between Blade and Karyn.

Snatcher was edited, but that was done in-house by Konami and not at Sega's request. I'm not certain why, but I assume it was to ensure a Teen rating which, around the time of the Night Trap controversy, would probably have helped sales.

The shower scene was removed not because Konami was afraid of a Teen rating, but because Catherine is a teenager in the Japanese (PC Engine) version. Mind you, they could have left the scene and pretend that she was 21 instead of 14.

They did that too, actually; in her file in JORDAN, her age was changed to 18 from 14.

I noticed that there are two North American versions of Rise of the Dragon, one released by Dynamix and one released by Sega. Does anyone know if there are any differences between the two?

I meant that there are two separate releases on the Sega CD.

I found another difference between the PC and Sega versions: in the intro of the Sega CD version, the girl doesn't say "Thanks, Lou", so in the Sega CD the drug dealer is left unnamed, which is odd, because they didn't really have a reason to cut that.

Really? are you sure about this?

Yes, I've found both versions. Unfortunately, I don't have the time at the moment to go through both of them to see if there are any differences, so I wanted to ask if anyone else had done so already.

Hmm. The drug dealer is always 'Chen Lu', though, the guy who gets MTZ'd in his apartment.

And yeah, I think I have the Dynamix version of the SEGA CD. Curiouser and curiouser!
