I'd like to use three ISA MIDI interfaces in one PC. Presently, I have two: a MPU-IPC set to 330 (and not adjustable), and a MIDI port on a SoundBlaster AWE32 sound card set to 300. I'd like to add another AWE32 or SB16 card so I can use the MIDI port as another interface, but the AWE32 only has the option of 300 or 330H for the MIDI port. I can't find the manual for my SB16, so I'm not sure if it's the same.
Does anyone now if the SB16 perhaps allows the MIDI port to be set to, say, 310 or 320? Creative Labs no longer supports the card and doesn't have an old manual available.
Anyone know of an old ISA sound card that DOES support various I/O addresses for the MIDI port?
Cloudschatze gave me a Voyetra V-22 MIDI interface a while back, but I've been unable to get it to work under DOS, with Voyetra software. Ideally, this would solve my problem, since it contains two MIDI ports.

Can't you use an old Turtle Beach ISA card? There's a lot i want to use, but i don't do any sequencing/editing under DOS.

I can probably use a variety of ISA sound cards, if I had them. I just already had the SB16 sitting around gathering dust, so I thought I may be able to use it. I've since found the manual, and no, it only recognized 300 and 330H.
I've talked to a couple of people on Ebay with ISA cards for sale, but nobody has drivers or manuals for them, and trying to find them online isn't always possible.
I'm not familiar with Turtle Beach ISA cards. None popped up when I did a Ebay search. What are some of their names?

I'll have to investigate to see if the card's I/O is adjustable. If so, I'll search for a seller here in the US. I really don't want to get into wire transfers, and this guy doesn't use PayPal International. No Malibu cards are listed on the U.S. or northAmerican web site...which is were I'd prefer to deal. Much easier and quicker. Hmm...I may be able to find one for sale other than on Ebay, too.

Well, I mroe just wanted to show you the cards. They look pretty nice for ISA jobs! And I like Voyetra/TB.

The MPU-401AT can be set to a variety ports, IIRC, not just 300 and 330. But it's a little difficult to find. I'd try and get it anyway, If I could. What about another PCI card? Have you got any slots left?

The RAP10 would be a possibility, I suppose...but like any other ISA card, unless it's MIDI port I/O setting is adjustable to settings OTHER THAN 300 or 330, it wouldn't help. I can't find any documentation on these old Turtle Beach and Roland cards that say, either way.

Well, RAP-10 manual among all others is available in Roland US site. It tells that available I/O:s are 220, 230, 240, 250, 320, 330, 340 and 350.

Hmmm....I didn't think to check Roland's site as they still don't have the manuals for my SC-8820 and SCB-55 posted, and I still don't see the 8850 listed, either. So, I rarely think of Roland as a source for manuals. Thank you much! This will work, perfectly. Let the bidding begin...

It's the only card I knew that would work with my present setup -- with two other MIDI interfaces, under DOS, so ot was worth $100 to me, though I know the card is really worth only about $10. I have Sequencer Plus Gold DOS drivers specifically designed for the Rap-10, so this is perfect for my needs. Working with MIDI under DOS has its drawbacks -- finding support in a Windows world, for one -- but it also has a lot of benefits -- like, better sequencing software!

Well the card does come with the original box and documentations. The seller even claims that it was not used at all, so I think you are getting a great value Tom...even at US$67.00.
Incidentally, one of your bidding competitors, wasin2543...is the same guy who bid on the SCB-55/MPU-401AT that I was bidding on some two years back. I sniped the auction away from him at the last second for some US$60.00 (I bid $90.00 so as to put a margin). After all this time, he's still bidding away at Roland gear...and has won most of them. I wonder if he resells them or just collects. Oh well..

The Rap-10 auction was ending at 7:00 a.m., my time, when I'd be fast asleep. I placed my one and only bid before going to bed at 4:00 a.m. and hoped for the best. I figured nobody would bid more than $80 on it. I was amazed that this wasin2543 went as high as $67 for such an old, useless piece of hardware. You're probably right -- he resells.

Actually, wasin2543 went up to only CND$41.00...still a high price for a RAP-10. Another bidder tried to snipe it away from you at the last eight seconds...53diesel..who went up to CND$77.00. It's a good thing you put a large margin in your only bid.

I think it's kind of ridiculous personally, given what that money could have brought to QuestStudios. But ah well. At least you'll get lots of use out of it.

It's a RAP-10. It's useless except as being handy to use as ports. Remember, Tom like the rest of us can't afford to get nice stuff, so blowing this kind of money on a RAP-10 seems strange, when he could use better XG synths, for example. Believe me, I wish Tom had a MU-128 and Fantom XR.. - Alistair

How in the world can you even remotely fathom my financial situation? Or, what I feel is a worthwhile expense? I have no desire to spend money on another XG synth, or Fantom XR, or anything else at the moment, whether or not you feel I'd be better off with them. I'm content with my present setup.
