As my one Mac/Windows game, I decided to give QFGV a go on OSX 10.4.5. It runs (crawls) terribly. Is there some means of optimizing the OS9 Classic environment? I can't boot into OS9 on the Mini...

From what I understand, that's probably an issue with the Classic environment, which has performance issues for software that tries to do full-screen drawing. Unfortunately, I'm not certain that there's anything you can do to improve performance.

I just installed it on my PowerBook G4 with the patch and it's running fine for me. Now mind you I have over a gig of Ram but so far I've had no problems. Also I made sure to do a complete install. Try with the patch and see if it works.

I just finished the game and I thought I should mention how it went.

I installed the game as the "full install" and installed the patch.

I didn't really come across any dificulties while playing however at one point (I cant remember when) i got stuck in a rut in which if I tried to click pretty much anywhere the game would crash to the desktop.

to overcome this I simply copied my saved game files to the desktop and trashed the game folder - reinstalled everything - loaded up the old save files and away I went with no more problems.

one more thing to mention - I would suggest not making any changes to where the game decides to install itself - at least not until you've applied the patch - this will ensure things are in the right place. infact the best thing to do is to just leave everything as is.
