I've just done a re-build of my main system since my other motherboard just died, and when going to install my 170MB SoundFont onto my Audigy 2 ZS, I see the 4MB sound font says "GMGSMT" on it. I took a look at the patches and found a whole section with MT-32 patches!

Some of them have "MT" at the end and some don't. Can anyone confirm if these are proper MT-32 patches or are just "fake" ones? I can't test them since I can't get SoundStudio Pro 2 to use them  Sad

Creative has been doing it for years (my AWE32 has the same thing). It's just a GS soundfont with the MT-32 default patches in it, because GS needs those patches. They're not great, they sound more like GM instruments than MT-32 ones, even more than that occurs with the SC-55 and its' MT-32 patches.

I have always wondered if someone ever came up with the bright idea to make Soundfonts for the Sierra games' MT-32 tracks.  In my experience, most of the Sierra games don't make patch changes during the game - only before the game...  Certainly this wouldn't be too hard to do - and they wouldn't have to be exact matches - anything that will remotely sound close to the MT-32 would definately do for those who don't have one.  I'm not saying to cram all the Sierra sounds into one large Soundfont, but make an individual Soundfont for each game.

Someone did it for KQ5, but I never got a chance to check it out. I think I still have it. Not sure, though.

And, no "Sierra" games send patches in-game, but some Dynamix ones (Heart of China, for example) do.

Could you send it to me?  I'd very much enjoy to try it out for information's sake.  Thanks Smiley
