hi
well Alistair the bid ended at $556

ammmmm The winner already paid

It’s unbelievable but between e-bay and paypal I paid $48 of fees.

They are thieves with license.

Another way to put it is that pay pal is a monopoly we need more paying services like pay pal that charges less then 1%

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for posting. Smiley 556 ain't bad!! For you.

I paid 1000 USD for mine new in box about 2 years ago.
Best investment I ever made (after plane tickets to the USA of course!).

The fees are criminal. If I was in the USA selling on EBay (which I will be in the near future) I'd bloody make everyone pay via bank deposit.

As it is, most of my customers are USA and I charge them PayPal fees if they use it, and I encourage international bank transfer.

Anyone from Aus has to use bank transfer.

Oh yeah!! And it's actually worse for us. As you know, the price I pay for something on US Ebay depends on the day I pay, because of exchange rates. PayPal's exchange rate makes me pay more than if I paid outside EBay! E.g. exchange rate = 77 US c = 1 AU $. PayPal gives me 74.5 or some ****! It's evil.

Ammm

What about paymate have you tried using them?
Are their fees lower?

I remember some time back I used it with a seller from Australia and it was extremity easy.

Jeff
