Hey folks,

Since I can't quite afford a Korg for a while, I'm going to set my sights on an expansion board for my MU100R for the moment.

If anyone wants to sell me one/trade for one, I'd be very grateful.

Regards,

Alistair,

Are you after any board in particular? I'll keep an eye out.

Hey Eric,

Thanks for the swift reply.

Yes, after your post I'm interested in the PLG-150DX (BTW, you spelled it both PLG100 and PLG150, which is it?).

But really, if the price was right, any would be of use.

The only difference between the PLG100-DX and PLG150-DX is that the latter will retain the user patches when powered-off. This really isn't a necessity when used in the MU modules (for which the PLG cards were originally designed), but is probably useful when used in the MOTIF keyboards, or other such devices.

Aha, I'd want either, then. Really, Eric, any board you find would be of considerable use to me.

And, BTW, please register again at the JT, we've fixed the problem which deleted you.

Am I right in presuming that this is the right kind of board?

And, how do I get it in the module?

Hey Alistair,

I can't check on that link while at work. As for the second question though, you'll have to open up your MU, probably with a screwdriver. There will be two places to mount the boards.

EDIT: That board will work just fine in your module. If the price stays low, it might be a good buy.

Followup: Do you know anything about the board?

And, how lucky! It's in my state of Oz!

It's Yamaha's piano board. I've not heard one, though you can download the manual for it for a better idea of what it's features/capabilities are.

Yeah, I know. But if you read manuals, apparently Yamaha MU DSP makes the patches sound incredible. Boot it on, and myth debunked. Tongue

I received a Musician's Friend flyer in the mail, advertising the PLG-150PC (new) or PLG-150PF (refurbished) for $99.
