Hey Markell,

Just wanted to ask- what don't you get about Garritan? I've only just got it, but I've got the hang of it in some regards at least.

Though, Garritan also isn't good for every single type of sound, too. It's only good for a couple instruments, piano + strings (of course, amazingly good for them).

Regards,

The brass is some of the nicest I've ever heard, too....  but getting the volume levels right is a major pain without a keyboard that has a proper modulation wheel (vs. the stupid Roland lever.)

Yes, that I agree with. But, with MIDI file you can always stick a modulation control at the start of the file (basically, instead of volume control = 100, stick in modulation = 100).

True... been a long time since I played with MIDI commands directly.  Can you remember which controller number was modulation?  A new MIDI controller is definately in order though....  I may just keep this software after all.  Wink

Er, it's controller 1, I think. May be controller 2 in your MIDI program though (depends if you have it set to 1-128 or 0-127).

I like Garritan, I just don't like it as far as ease of GM usage goes. TO get 128 instruments at your disposal is a LOT of work. I'd basically just use it as a strings and piano accompaniment, albeit an amazingly wonderful one.
