I've never played with Larry Laffer(aside from a tiny bit of the original and the thing with Graham Laffer in KQ2VGA), but this looks to be as great an abuse of the franchise as MOE was with King's Quest.

Yeah, the Mask of Eternity analogy's not a bad one. Instead of pursuing a career as well as creatively picking up women, you sleazily try and score with babes.
Minus the Al Lowe/Josh Mandel/etc humour I'm sure.
To reply to Tom: Desperate yes, but not stupid either. They wouldn't be making these games if they were going to bomb. Presumably teenagers and mid 20's males will lap it up. I won't be one of them.

Apparently they were making a sequel to MCL that was going to be released a couple months ago, but since nobody's heard of it since god-knows-when I'm assuming the sales were horrible.

A couple of friends with less.. discerning tastes said it (MCL) wasn't too far from the old LSL games, except a bit more crude, so I can imagine it would've done OK. Especially given Western society as far as males in my age group goes has become "thrust sex in the media as far down your throat as you'll take it without gagging". Honestly, I can't imagine Vivendi throwing money down a drain- although god knows they can afford to. Maybe some manager has latched onto the idea that LSL will sell, and is justifying the decision with more games. That reminded me of an interview with the new president of Sierra that basically confirmed that they don't give a damn about their old adventure games. I don't have it with me, but basically the interviewer asked about what they're going to do with old franchises that haven't been doing well lately (he specifically mentioned Crash, Spyro, and KQ, I'm guessing that's his way of sneaking in a question about classic Sierra games without coming right out and asking "When are we gonna see a new KQ game") Anyways, in the response he completely ignored the part about KQ. He didn't even mention anything about it or even a remote possibility that there might be a future game. So, I suppose those franchises are dead to Sierra now.

I know I wouldn't want a new Quest for Glory or King's Quest game(TSL aside), as who knows just how badly they will trash the franchise like they did with Larry.

DOAX was horrible, it got too boring too fast and it took WAY to long to complete even just one girl's collection. DOAX2 is better though, there's a lot more to do and it's a lot easier to get a complete collection.

Well, it's simple to play and there's lots of swimsuits and accessories to collect so you can play dress-up with the girls, so actually it almost seems like a very girl-oriented game
