If it's a problem, I could probably send you the Dune files myself.

By the way, would it be possible to upload the dune soundtrack again, the link seems to be outdated. Thanks in advance!

The links are now updated (for the post on the second page).

Thanks for updating the links! Do you think it's possible you could provide some Dune II samples or record the soundtrack? :-)

Great tracks indeed. The bass goes DEEEEEP sometimes, I like it. Smiley
I too would like the Dune II tracks recorded on a real AdLib Gold as well if it is possible.

Thanks very much! If it's not too much of an effort, could you also update the link to the program disks and the other stuff? (I do have an Adlib Gold, after all but its stowed away for the time being).

I agree about the bass, it sure is deep. Wish there had been more composers who worked with the distinctive sound and possibilities of the opl. Just think of all those C64/SID composers who made so much out of so little.

Give me another day or two - I'll add the software to the "Ad Lib Legacy" post...

I should mention that the tone tweaking of the TDA8425 chip is programmed into the tracks themselves (someone on a Dune forum was complaining about the bass...).

Check these out...  Cool

@Cloudschatze: I like them, especially the organ. Sounds great

Btw, were these recorded on a real Adlib? They somehow sound like digitally rendered in 44.1 khz :-). Don't know if the Adlib could do as much as 44.1 khz.

No, they were played-back using an AWE32 (hence the additional effects - /R:20, /C:10).

These are great, especially the organ! Is this OPL2 or OPL3? I already have an Adlib, so you might as well lift the secret  Grin

Btw, have you ever listened to Dune 2 on the Gold? Is there any difference from the OPL2 music?

OPL2

The tracks are from a South Korean game called "Eol's Adventure," by Family Production. Other games by this same company, such as "Shakii the Wolf," "Pee & Gity Special," and "Olmang Jolmang Paradise," also have great OPL2 soundtracks (Ad Lib and Sound Blaster are the only supported music devices, no less).

I've actually been very impressed with a number of Korean DOS games as of late. I may have to start a separate post...

Not yet. Looking at the game files though, there doesn't appear to be any special music support for the Ad Lib Gold.

Hmm, there don't seem to be any soundcard-specific files in the directory anyway. Or can you decode the .pak files? Anyway, I think the easiest thing would be to check for stereo in the Adlib Gold output.
