Hi,

Someone posted the Inferno title music here a while ago - can't remember when, I just discovered an OGG of it on my hard drive the other day. Played it and loved it! Very Martin Galway-esque....

Anyway, since my iPod doesn't like OGGs, and since I have the game and a CM-32L, I thought I'd record it myself. Using DOSBox, the title plays just fine.... but I am experiencing some ugly clipping during the louder parts.
Played with my soundcard's Line In levels and with the CM-32L's volume knob. Clipping didn't go away! I even hooked up my CM-500 instead, and had the same problem. Anyone know what I could be missing here?

You can hear a brief clip of it for yourself, here. Would be really grateful for any advice!

Thanks, Mike

Sounds like the same problem with the KQ4 Finale.

To stop the clipping, lower the MIDI/Music volume via Inferno's setup.

That did the trick! There is a mixer in-game. Many thanks Rhizome. Smiley

Strangely enough, my version of the title music seems to play much faster than the OGG I downloaded a while back. Wish I could remember who it was from...

Anyway, I've uploaded my version here, and the original OGG is here.

What could account for these differences in tempo? Is the fact that I'm using DOSBox messing the speed up?
I guess it would really help if whoever recorded it originally piped up. Laust, was it you?

Cheers.

IIRC, your version is running at the correct speed. At least that's what I seem to remember from when I played the game a few years ago.
