Hi, was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of audio file format .gp3 represents?  The reason I ask is because I purchased a CD of files advertised as MIDI on e-bay, but when I got the CD, everything was in .gp3 format rather than .mid or .midi.  When I tried playing them via my CM-500, some files sounded OK, while others produced some very bizarre-sounding audio output.  If anyone knows anything about .gp3 that any info would be appreciated.

[EDIT:  it appears that in order to be able to play .gp3 files in Windows, a software package named Guitar Pro 5 needs to be installed, if that sheds any light on things?]

Maybe it's a TAB player (in the form of MIDI?)...

After checking out some of the search hits in Alistair's link, it appears that according to http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php?pg=product-technical-specifications, my classic MIDI PC does not meet the minimum system requirements for the Guitar Pro software, which I guess is why I am getting the unpredictable results  Sad
