Because I am a computer game junkie - I assume folks remember these games that were very much like Sierra games? I'd love to be able to rip the music from these. But, be forewarned - I am a noob to ripping music from games. :-) Just curious if anyone's done it yet to spare me the pain of trying to do it myself.  Huh

I recorded the Legend of Kyrandia 1 soundtrack and it went on my site in January this year.

Downloaded and bookmarked (the site). Any plans do to the rest of the Kyrandia games? And possibly other (seemingly close to!) Sierra games like Les Manly (1 and 2) and Blue Force?

Based on the original request for music from Sierra-like games, I think the exclamation point and close parenthesis are in the wrong location, written in haste?

Perhaps Tawmis meant:

You Gary, dense?  Give me a break!  Smiley  I'm just going to slip back into the corner for a while and shut my mouth.

But speaking of Manly, I did finally mange to find some double-disc DVD cases.  I guess that has nothing to do with this topic, so one of the moderators will have to wipe my post.  But anyway, those double-DVD cases are a bear to find in retail stores.  Easy, online, but I wanted some today.  Finally found them at Office Depot.  And now back to your regularly scheduled topic.

Yeah, but you don't have any active moderators, so your off-topic post (as well as mine) are fine Wink

Aaaaanyway..

Thanks man. I like your site, BTW Smiley

Frank Klepacki asked me to work on LoK2 a while back, but I don't know when I'll be getting around to it. I'm sure I will sometime, but sometime is pretty vague. I also have a lot of Sierra projects I want to work on first.

As for those other games, I haven't played any of them. Perhaps, someday Wink

Thanks again. Any chance of a mention on your site? Smiley

Or are your plans to do a remake of the soundtrack like LoK1?

Hey Shai-Wa,

Heh, my plans are long-term as well.

BTW, LOK2's soundtrack isn't MT-32, it's SC-55. It has no MT-32 support at all.

I would work on LoL, but that sort of game isn't my idea of fun *at all*.

My eventual plans for LoK2 would be enhancing the SC-55 score with the SC-8850, and using some MT-32 instruments as well, yes. Frank did ask me to work on that score as well. But I have a LOT of projects that come first.

Option 7 in the setup of LoK2, MT32/LAPC Wink
We're talking about Hand of Fate do we ?
Malcolm's revenge did not have MT32 support but Roland was mentioned in the system requirements if i remember correctly.

It's an option, yes, but there's no support still Smiley

Why? If you play it with MT-32, I think what happens is that the SC-55 music is played back on the MT-32, with no SysEx sent (which sounds crap). Hence, there's no 'support'. An 'option', yes, but no support.

LoK3 is digital, making LoK one of the only series to have MT-32, then SC-55, then digital. Pretty cool.

Terrible!

I suppose one can always use the MT32GM patches, to make it sound a little bit more bearable.
I've played Duke Nukem 3D completely in one evening with those patches, 'twas an "interesting" experience.  Roll Eyes

Ok,... so recording is going to be done on both modules when ive got the time.
(Maybe for compare purposes also SC88?)

If hearing a fantasy pad where an acoustic bass is supposed to be playing is nice, then I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree Wink

Yes, I've noticed it when listening to more tracks yesterday.
Some instuments are not correct sometimes.
But calling it terrible still goes to far is my opinion.

Les Manley in Search of the King may not be a Sierra title, but it still has a cameo from Leisure Suit Larry.  Smiley

Blue Force was okay.... not spectacular - but it featured Sierra's Jim Walls!  Smiley
