Music

Sierra supported dual OPL2 on the Pro Audio Spectrum in several of its SCI1.0 and SCI1.1 games.  For these games, there was no known support for the Sound Blaster Pro (1.0), which also had dual OPL2 chips.  Certain late titles, like LSL6, had a SB Pro driver, but its stereo capabilities are difficult to discern.  Maybe the SB Pro driver in LSL6 is for OPL3 music.  Did Sierra ever support the advanced features of the OPL3?

Digitized Sound

By Sierra's 1.1 games, there is support for the PAS 16 and the Windows Sound System, which can both do stereo 8-bit @44.1kHz, yet no listings for Sound Blaster Pro or Sound Blaster 16.  However, a game like LSL7 has support for something better than an SB2.0, the sound quality of the a SB16 compared to SB2.0 shows more than better noise floor.  What Sound Blaster drivers support which cards?

SBPRO.DRV is always for OPL3. The only OPL3 feature it uses is stereo panning; it still uses only 9 channels and two-operator instruments.

AUDBLAST.DRV automatically detects 16-bit and Pro cards and utilizes those features, at least the driver that comes with those later games that actually provide 16-bit recordings. And for those earlier games that only provide 8-bit recordings, the support for the advanced cards is dispensable anyway.
