So I decided to test some of these ISA cards I was given last night. Two of the cards that caught my eye the most were the SB16s, one having a manual volume control.

I would like to use this CT1740 for AdLib demoscene recordings (from music disks), but unfortunately the volume control doesn't seem to work. The card it's self works as I can just about hear the OPL chip outputting sound, but the volume dial does nothing. The dial moves nicely, and it doesn't look damaged at all, making me think there's some jumper that's the cause (there's various jumpers near the dial).

Is there any way I can fix this card?

The volume control will do nothing if the onboard amplifiers are off.  See here for the settings:
