I recently purchased QFG 5 about a month ago, I've had a lot of fun with it but I cant complete it. I run it on XP in windows, choosing an option to make it think its running in 98 When I get to the first cinematic in the game, it just kind of hangs up. Though the people will still be moving, meaning you can still see them breathing, they'll just stand there and I cant do anything. I haven't found a way around this and any help would be great

Mace summed it up pretty well. In case you're unfamiliar with the program, DOSBox

Mace summed it up pretty well. In case you're unfamiliar with the program, DOSBoxUmm, Quest for Glory V is a Windows only game, DOSBox is not likely to help him much unless he can master installing Windows 95 on it. Since he may not know about the program, that is unlikely. Even so, his computer may not be powerful enough to run it at a playable speed.

But yeah, people play starcraft on Windows 95 on DOSBox, so it's not a terribly bad idea.

I am not sure whether DOSBox supports all the hardware features needed to make DirectX work. However, the game does not appear to require or even use a 3D accelerator card.

I'm not sure it can handle windows 95 properly, let alone QFG5 Well, I know it's supported technically, but I thought it ran slow on my Pentium 90.

I'm not sure if you've had a chance to try the patches yet, but I installed them on my XP system, and QFGV seems to work great. Good luck!
