Hi,

I just recieved a Roland SC-55 ST, which I bought from someone. Unfortunately he didn't mention that the unit came without a power supply.
Luckily I have a MT-32 power supply, which offers the exact specifications the SC-55 ST needs.

I hooked it up and...nothing. The unit seems to be completely dead, not responding at all, the power light stays dark and I can't get a signal out of it. Of course he didn't mention that it was defective either.

Since the unit came without a power supply, I assume that it was hooked up to one with the wrong polarity, thus frying the insides. Is there anything I can do to repair it, change a fuse or something? Or could the whole board be completely dead?

thanks,

If the power supply works with your MT-32, if you have one, then it will work with the SC-55ST.  All Roland Sound Canvas (SC) models to my knolwedge use center negative polarity, as do the Computer Modules (CM) and the MT-32.

Of course, if you have never tested the power supply with another device, it is possible that the supply is dead, not your module.

I have a working MT-32 power supply (hanging on my MT-32) but when I hook it up to the SC-55 ST it doesn't work, so it's definitely the SC unit.
