hello everyone,
i sold my yamaha mu 2000 ex sometime ago,
and the buyer say to me : the midi output don't work
I say it need a driver, he say it don't need any driver,
For him, if the midi output don't work with any driver, it mean it don't work with ant other midi device or on MAC...
I say use the USB, but he want be sure the midi output work [and without driver off course, to be sure it can work with any midi device]
On a Windows OS, the midi don't need driver ? I must to be sure of what he say....
It's a realy fast conclusion, he have already open the paypal protection, and i need to be sure of what he say

Tanks in advance for your response Tongue

Just for clarification, has the buyer stated that MU is not receiving MIDI, or that it's not transmitting MIDI? If the former (and leaving both serial and USB out of the picture), is the HOST SELECT switch set to "MIDI"? If the latter, does he mistakenly have another device connected to the MU's MIDI OUT port, rather than MIDI THRU?

What, exactly, was tried that didn't work?

Hi tanks for your response, i don't know very well he say that he try to put in midi, and it's not work, i think he see the switch,
it will be hard to communicate with now, he make the protection of paypal,
but goja a dealer certainly very know there said that to me : i asked the same question :
Hi, if the MU2000 is used as a stand-alone unit with a keboard it will need no drivers. If the unit is used with a computer your buyer will need to install the proper drivers before connecting the module to the computer. It will only work with USB or a Serial to Host cable.
Thanks

He is certainly right, he certainly know what he sell

here it's to a computer, he want to host, when i used this only by usb...
it's kinda hard to reply to this, if he is not only bored and just want the refund,
BTW what goja said to me is right ? no way to connect midi to a computer ?

Sure there is. Assuming there is a MIDI interface connected to the computer, the MU can be connected to it via MIDI cables.

You may be right about the buyer just wanting to back-out of the deal, especially if he didn't contact you first before filing the PayPal dispute.

If he is interested in at least trying to troubleshoot the supposed problem, I can send you a copy of the MU2000 service manual, which details various testing procedures.

Hi tanks, well, he said he try to put it in a midi interface, i don't think he got wrong, but maybe he lie anyway,
well if the litige in paypal go in the favor the buyer, i got to have it returned, and because he wait so long i don't own the money anymore, i don't know what paypal do in this issue, but i can't refound money by 1 mounth, i need 2 or even 3...
That's really how the problem is... [and i don't have credit card registred, not credit card at all eventualy]
I sell it for 230 euros with the shipping fees, for buying anything else... Like everyone i don't sold if i don't need money for anything else,
i can resale it after, even at a lower price, even here with mention, work on usb only, i don't have any midi interface to try if he was right or not...
But now i don't get any confidence on that paypal system... It's seem to be powerfull for buyers only...
[to you to me, USB or Midi, it's the same thing, no difference, it's sending info, from computer to the sound rack unit...]
Well i don't think i will risk that again.

Even if i think i will not got help from, if you can sending me the manual, by Megaupload, or mediafire or anything else

tanks you
