Hello fellow Sierra Midi Fans. I rftl the .. am ...  Midi Noob  Roll Eyes have some questions about the Yahama Mu 80.

I'm use Midi Synth only for gaming and to listen to nice midi songs.

I know that a XG device it not really a must have for Gaming. Because there are almost no XG games.
And for GM it would only be nice because  I already have a SC-55Mk2.

So it's mostly for music. How are the compatibility for the Mu 80?
Is there enough Free XG music on the net that Play nice with this device?
Or do i need a more advanced (and out of Price range) Synth for most XG Midis?
What do you guys think. Is the Mu 80 good Synth for only listening Music?

Yeah my English is really horrible.

As long as you use it to play XG midi files, the MU-80 is OK, and you don't need more powerful XG synths to reproduce them, as they are usually intended for the MU-50/80 and simmilar gear (DB50XG, SW60XG and so on).

Of course, if you want to create your own music, the higher MU model (MU1000, MU128, MU100, etc.) the better.

Thank you schad0wfax you are very helpful. I think i buy the MU80 tomorrow.
I only want a nice (not to expansive) option for XG Playback and maybe a second option for GM Files/Games.

Sorry that i have to Bump this tread. But i have a MU80 related question and don't want to start a new tread.

Has the MU 80 a MT-32 Compatibly Mode?
I know that some Yamaha Daugtherbords had one (I think unofficial).
How about the MU-80?

Oh i found it.
It's the C/M Computer Music Mode.
