Hello,

I came across a few CM-500s, all having both GS+GM logos, however on the bottom, they have different model numbers.

One of them is model DM-500N, the other is model DM-500N-2, and the third is DM-500N-3.

Does anyone have any idea what is the difference between the models? I have seen previous discussions about a similar topic, however, it was about differences between those having one logo vs two logos.

The hardware is all the same. "DM" signifies that the unit was sold as part of a DTMS hardware/software bundle, which usually included versions of Ballade and Singer Song Writer.

DM-500N = Desktop Music - (CM-)500 w/NEC MPU
DM-500N-2 = Version 2 (software)
DM-500N-3 = Version 3 (software)

Thanks, very useful information.

So, in fact, seems there is no reason to prefer for example a DM-500N-3 over a DM-500N or a DM-500N-2...
