I think I've read it here a few times that early SCI0 games, like PQ2, exploit a firmware bug in first gen. MT-32's, and therefore sound wrong on later revisions. Any examples?

I have a first gen. MT-32, but it's packed away. I don't need it, the CM modules sound good enough for me, especially the CM-32L, which has a lower noise floor, fully compatible with the LAPC-I, and does not have the faster vibrato bug of the CM-500.

1) Bass Drum in PQ2's "The Punk" (who tries to rob you in the Steelton park).
2) SQ1's custom timbre "SpaceAlvin", most noticable in "Tiny's Used Spacecraft".
3) KQ5's "Whiporill", heard when walking around the starting area. It's one octave higher on first generation modules.
4) SQ3's TakeOffMS is one octave higher on first generation modules, as heard in "The Black Hole".
5) There's some kind of Guitar in Dune II and Willy Beamish that doesn't really sustain on second-generation modules. Previous post should contain details.
