Hello,

Does anyone know what each of the DOS drivers for the ISA SB cards do exactly? I gather the CSP.SYS helps drive the CSP chip but what about CTMM.SYS and CTSB16.SYS? Better yet does anyone have a good resource of info on these drivers or the SB utilities (maybe service manuals, programmer's guides, FAQs)? The cards manual is less than helpful on the matter...

Also two utilities mentioned on this board are no longer available on the original links:

test-sb.exe or testsb.exe
and
sndid.com (NewRisingSun's ID utility)

Does anyone have new linkage or can post the files? Thank you!

Here is a link to the full Sound Blaster Development Kit:

http://www.dcee.net/Files/Programm/Sound/ctsbk2.zip

Inside of the SDK, there is a document titled "PGMNL.DOC" that describes the drivers and their use in detail.

Also, here are links to test utilities for the SB, SBPro, and SBPro2, respectively:

http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/creative/creative/patches/testsb.exe
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/creative/creative/patches/tssbp.exe
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/creative/creative/patches/tssbp2.exe

Hope this helps.  Smiley

Interesting, based on the info in that document it seems as if you actually don't need any of the drivers loaded through the config.sys unless your program wants low level access to the HW. That saves a ton of memory!
