Hi, all.

I'm using an ancient copy of Goldwave, but it doesn't recognize the new USB headphone/microphone adapter I recently bought.

Can anyone recommend a freeware WAV editor that I can use to remove/adjust CD ripping errors?

Thanks.

For me, the best audio editor is Audacity, with no doubt (and yes, it's free and open source).

Thank you for the suggestion.  I really appreciate the help everyone gives us audio "novices" here on the forums.

I had heard of Audacity a while back, but having no need for it at the time, I promptly forgot about it.  Coming so highly recommended, I will certainly try out this weekend!

Thanks again.   Smiley

I use Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge (stand alone version). It's not free but it's a great program. Much better user interface than Audacity (IMO), but hey when you get something for free you can't complain.

A quick google search for free WAV editors turns up a program called "Wavosour" and "Wave Editor". Not exactly attention grabbers but I think I am gonna give them a try.

Wavosaur isn't bad and Audacity's not bad either. For free, they're great for a novice, any questions about functions, most WAV programs are the same, so just ask Smiley
