Any Silpheed fans here?  Takeshi Miyaji, who founded Game Arts and also designed Silpheed, passed away last weekend.  Sad

The PC port by Sierra was one of my favorite PC games "back in the DOS days".  I can still recall playing the Silpheed intro from a dubbed cassette tape of the MT-32 demo as I try to get it synced with the game.

I was just about to say, the other GM (sorry, couldn't resist), wow, what a blast from the past!! Great to see you, Sir.

Blanka just posted again after all these years and all these people are bringing back memories. it's be making me want to record something if I hadn't already tonight.

Thanks for posting, you made my night. Smiley

And sorry to hear about poor Miyaji-san, although I'm surprised Kotaku refers to him as the Silpheed designer and not the GameArts founder..
At least with all of Silpheed/Thexder's legacy he'll be remembered.

Good to see you as well, George. It's sad that it's under such grim circumstances... Sad

I loved Silpheed! I could whistle the title theme all day long. (in fact, at some point when I was about 14, I did!).

If he died at 45, that would put him at about 21 years old when he worked on Silpheed. Impressive.

Anyway, sad news indeed.

My goodness, how time flies. It's a very sad thing that some game developers have already passed away.
