Hello,
Is it possible to download from a Roland MT32 a current patch bank that has been loaded from a game?
Thanks,
Rob

Yes. What do you want to do?
If Sierra is what you're looking for, read the MT-32 info section on this website. IIRC there is a Sierra patch there.

Hello,
I wanted to get get the sound banks from Ultima VII. When I play the game they get uploaded to my MT32. Just wanted to know then how to download this to a sysex file or something so then I can upload them to my MT32 when needed. I'm using Logic Audio and SysEx under a Mac.
Thanks,
Rob

Hmm... Did Ultima VII use a custom patch? Some games just send a reset command to the unit, use the default set as is. You should be able to save sysex data using a midi sequencer program. If using DOSBox's midi capture feature then you should be able to record the sysex along with midi data.

Not sure if its a custom patch bank or not. I'll try and record the data from Dosbox. I have a midi monitor program for Mac which seems to capture all midi data so I'll check if this can record the bank stuff.
Thanks,
Rob
