If anyone is interested - I've connected a CM-32LN to the Atari ST's built-in midi port, loaded up Codename: Iceman with sound output set to MT-32 and got perfectly fine MT-32 music. I just don't see much point in doing this, the MT-32 support should be identical to the PC version. Those SCI1 games were never released on the Atari ST.

I'm interested.. but as you say, it's probably the same stuff, so just record one or two if it's not too much trouble.

I certainly don't want you to do the whole thing! Wink That game is not the easiest to do if you're doing a 'playthru' while recording.

Do you want me to record from a CM-32LN, a CM-32L or a first gen. MT-32? (Or a CM-64, a CM-500, an MT-100.....)

it really doesn't bother me. For Iceman, a CM-32L should be good, but use the MT-32 if it's easier.

And as I said, one or two pieces is fine, it's just for my curiousity Smiley

Anything I can do for you beyond my SMC website (or even if you have a request), let me know.

The Atari ST is running in PAL mode, so the music might be a little slower than normal.

I hate to say it, but this sounds so wrong because of the 17% PAL slowdown.  Is this a dry recording (other than the fadeout at the end)?  I assume you are playing it on a PAL Atari ST.

Yes, it's a dry recording. Will try to make a recording in NTSC mode...

PAL Atari ST forced into NTSC mode by software. Recorded on a CM-32LN because it's easy to move around - thus the faster vibrato. I can make an MT-32 recording if someone wants it. I'm able to get MT-32 music in most Atari ST versions of SCI0 games.

Its good to know that you can force a switch on the machine.  It sounds much better, CM-32LN characteristics notwithstanding.
