Yes, but honestly, Roland never sold them and they're not available anymore. No one loses any money, and it's not like I'm going "CM-64 SERVICE NOTES HERE!" all over the interwebs.
Guess what, you just did.  Cheesy

But seriously, I'm very interested, could you mail them to me or something?  Smiley

I'm not sure how it is elsewhere in the world, but RolandUS has always charged consumers for the service manuals (unless you managed to get the right person on the phone...). Prior to 2002, before Roland went paperless, you could purchase the original, printed copies. Today, scanned prints will still cost you $15.

Now, if you're an Authorized Service Center, you can just log into a website and download the service manuals and bulletins in PDF format.

Also, just anecdotally, while speaking with a Roland technician last year, I was told that the sale of service notes on eBay or elsewhere is a violation of an ASC contract. Not that this necessarily pertains to consumers in any way (or affects the fact that I've purchased a few in such a manner). Smiley

This forum isn't "all over". Tongue

I'll see about scanning them when I get the time...

In Norway, there's no legitimate way of getting them except ebay. Unless you're authorized (I think). And even then, they probably want you to pay $50 for a red/blue copy. At least that's been my experience when requesting service manuals from other companies. Smiley

Let me know if you discover a good means of scanning them. I tried stitching the larger images together in Photoshop a few years back, but was never happy with the result.

Maybe you'll be able to use software intended to stitch panoramic photo's together.

http://s-island.mixnmojo.com/stuff/5.jpg - I did this one in a few mins in Photoshop, including scanning. Some of the seams aren't totally right, but I thought it looked okay for a quick job.

Nice. Perhaps I'll send my stuff to you, and let you take care of it.  Grin

Totally agree with Cloud.

I bought a couple of those Roland Service Manual 2 weeks ago and didn't expect they have such a big page folded so nice into an A4 size...

I also face the same problem of scanning them into .PDF ...  Sad

Alright, so I didn't finish with the manual this weekend. I'm shooting for a simultaneous release with Duke Nukem Forever.  Cool

In the meantime, here's an MT-32, "Miniature Orchestra" sales brochure:

Now it seems clearer to me that the main reason why the MT-32 lacks a decent acoustic piano patch is that it was intended to be a complement for Roland's digital pianos...

Still waiting for that supplemental MT-32 manual...  Tongue

Not to mention the default MIDI-channel settings and tuning. Smiley

Dianne bought her MT-32 before Sierra ever knew what the thing was.  Roland did extensive "live" demonstrations back in the 1980's, geared toward music teachers and owners of digital pianos.  The MT-32 was promoted as part of a three-piece set which also included the Roland PR-100 (hardware sequencer.)

Well, it isn't Duke Nukem Forever, but I've updated the parent post with the supplemental MT-32 manual (book). Roland's legal department is still looking into whether or not they can host it alongside the original MT-32 manual on their support website - my hope is that they can/will.

In the meantime... enjoy!

Wow, I completely forgot about it in the meantime, but that is excellent work!
