Thanks, it brings back memories!
The CM-300 should offer the same quality as the original SC-55, shouldn't it?
I actually notice the SC-55 sounds a little crisper. At the moment I'm playing with the CM-32L in overflow mode to a CM-64, since several of Barry's tracks eat a lot of poly.

I loved the T.F.X. soundtrack on my SCC1, but I assume that's a conversion, huh?
Barry originally composed it on an LAPC-I then converted it to the SCC-1 and Sound Blaster (which he hated). The SCC-1 version ended up becoming the CD version, although 'Close Air Support' somehow got broken on the CD version. I'm still working on recording that version from my SC-55. (Here's the version recorded on my Audigy 2 ZS if you want to hear it - this is recorded from a CM-300: http://la32.co.uk/dreams/pc/TFX_Original_SCC-1.7z )

Thanks.
That looks like a cool sound card! Do you happen to know if it can make "bit-perfect" recordings from an optical or coaxial digital source?
I'm unsure. I haven't tested the optical/coaxial digital-in yet - I need to get a new cable to try the AWE32's S/PDIF out.

MUSIC & SOUND CARDS / Roland MT-32 Sound Module / Did composers dislike the echo/tap-delay reverb setting?

I finished recording the original version of 'The Humans' last night, and I've started to wonder why very few composers used the echo/tap-delay setting on the reverb chip. Barry Leitch, Ian Howe and Dean Evans are the only composers I know of who used that setting, and they were all from the same company. They used it pretty heavily, too. I have never come across any other composer that used it on the MT-32 or LAPC-I.
Does anyone else know of composers who used it? Was it not used much because composers didn't like the sound of it?
