I've done some ebay inquiries from Canadian sellers. Most of them charge very high fees when compared to USPS rates (I don't know why). Could that be because American money is worth more here? (what's $199 US is $233.49 Canadian)

I wouldn't care if I signed my own written music away to a company so that a fangame of a genre I wanted revived could see the light of day. No not in the slightest. I can always write more music. Programmers can always write more programs or code more games. Artists can always draw new pictures. That's the beauty of having a talent of art in any form. You can never run out. So what if a small piece of that is signed away from my ownership so that another potential genre-reviving game can be released. I agree that it is a pretty dumb law and is immoral to a degree, but it's well worth it IMO and doesn't really damage anything. Their names will still be given full credit anyway.

MUSIC & SOUND CARDS / Miscellaneous MIDI & Sound Cards / Virtual Sound Canvas? How does it fare?

I am a gamer (I'm actually looking into getting a 5.1 surround sound setup sometime) and I don't make mp3s. Mostly I encode as OGG files. And I'll still have that distorting audio problem because I'll have to use the ATI video inputs RCA jacks for left and right audio. The Audigy 2 ZS Platinum has those built into its front panel.

That's crazy.
I'd like to get an Audigy ZS 2 Platinum so I can plug my GT-6 guitar processsor straight into the front left and right RCA inputs. Right now I'm using the left and right RCA inputs on my ATI AIW 9800Pro and it distorts the audio and I can only hear it if I have the TV program on. That's annoying. I'd like to record without using up too many system resources and with a nice clean crisp un-distorted sound.

If you use a program such as WinAmp, open the properties for the WinAmp Midi plugin under Input, set it to DirectMusic Microsoft Synthesizer, then under the DirectMusic tab tick "Reverb" (and set sample quality to 44100khz so it sounds better). That doesn't help for actually playing a game, though. If you're going to use a software synth, better go for the Yamaha S-YXG50. Oh, really? Not the S-YXG100 or 100plus?

I was wondering just how close to the original a Virtual Sound Canvas can sound? Like, if I wanted to play Monkey Island 2 or FOA in ScummVM with VSC, would it sound anything like it's supposed to on an actual sound canvas? Or likewise, Space Quest 5 in Dosbox?
If not are there any soundfonts out there that simulate a sound canvas at least near perfectly?

It is all in midi format and the midi files sit right in the directory unpacked and everything. The game seems to ne just something to make money off of the first 2. The music isn't all that great...no real themes or anything like that. Just ambient stuff. Although for some reason I seemed to really like one level's music which was a little dark but I can't for the life of me figure out why anymore lol. If you really want them I suppose I can install the game and upload some midis for ya or email them or whatever.
