I am a fan of Zeliard the action game back in the DOS arena.
I have listened to a MP3 version of the MT-32 soundtrack. Back then I didn't know Sierra has granted permission for posting game MIDI soundtracks to Quest Studios, so I deleted those MP3s of Zeliard in order to stay clean.

Still I only own the SB Live soundcard and I found the GM/GS (including the DLS GS synth from Microsoft) version of the Zeliard MIDI soundtrack isn't up to par to the MT-32 version I've listened to.

So I  wonder, are there any Zeliard fans out there?
Any MT-32 owners can comment on the quality of Zeliard MIDI soundtrack using authentic MT-32 hardware?

Just out of interest, where'd you find the GM/GS Zeliard files?

It was from a Taiwan FTP site.
I am not sure it is around anymore...

I downloaded Zeliard a couple of months ago out of curiosity, didn't interest me very much so I deleted it. There's nothing special about its MT-32 track (I own an MT-32), pretty boring for my taste (sounded like Nintendo music). No custom or special instruments. But then again, I only played the first few levels.

Hmm... I finished the game and felt the BGM tracks for the later levels are better. The track for the golden castle level has casted certain Eypgtian mummy mood to it.

How about playing the MT-32 version MIDI files from this site?

I haven't tried playing the music here at the site, I'll probably do so later. You might consider buying a real MT-32, if you liked the music of Zeliard, you will definitely love the music in other Sierra games. Nothing beats having the real thing really.

Ah, Zeliard.  It was an interesting game, and one that apparently confused Sierra's marketing or artwork departments on exactly what it was about.  The little character on the front of the box looked more like a norse viking than a japanese warrior. Smiley

Duke Garland does NOT have a beard!

Almost all of the music from the game is represented on the Zeliard page at this website, but there are no mp3 files.

I *might* be co-erced into making a recording in response to a request or two.

I'm willing to record another 2 if you want. Any specific tracks?
