Though I stopped using Winamp a few years ago when I discovered foobar, I'm a bit sad to see this one go down like this considering how much influence it had "back in the days".  |

I actually stick with Winamp 2. It suits all of my needs, except for Modules, for which I use Impulse Tracker for DOS and Modplug for Windows. (Could use Winamp for MODs, I just don't.)
Really, I'm not quite sure what to say about this. I've been following along with the releases, but I don't quite understand all of the benefits of upgrading Winamp from 2.x to 5.0.
Just like I switched from WMP to Zoom Player and BSPlayer for videos, looks like I have to switch from Winamp too.

Speaking of WinAmp, anybody using Firefox v1.0 yet? I downloaded it a couple of days ago and have been very happy with it. I see in a USA Today report that it's already making a dent in IE (along with Opera, Netscape, and others.) I just hope it continues to steal away IE users as quickly as it's doing now.

Speaking of WinAmp, anybody using Firefox v1.0 yet? Using it and loving it! Been playing with the program since 0.8 release and gotta say it's hands-down better than IE and I was a big fan of IE for a long time. Hopefully the success of Firefox will light a fire under M$'s butt and get them to add the much needed tab support to IE. |

Does the latest version of I.E. even have pop-up blocking? I use XP Professional at work, which I assume, includes the latest IE, and it seems about the same as older versions to me. Unless you set security to very high, pop-ups galore. (I use...very rarely...v5 at home.) I never have been able to understand why so many use IE, other than it normally comes pre-installed on their PC's. It certainly seems to have the least amount of features and security among browsers.

The version of IE that comes with SP2 includes a pop-up blocker and a lot of changes "under the hood" which should make it more secure. MS doesn't offer it without SP2 though.

Yes, I've been using Firefox as my main browser for some time now, even before version 1.0 came out. The sad thing is that some sites are exclusively designed for Internet Explorer, and refuse to work with anything else. So I can't get rid of IE altogether, even though I would really like to. |

Yeah...the only version of IE with a pop-up blocker is XP SP2 version of IE. If you're using any other version, you need to get the Google bar or Yahoo bar or something else for pop-ups.
It's apparent MS isn't really bothering to do much with any of the other version of Windows except XP, which is now there cash cow.
