Hi there,
this is my first post since two years I'm missing these forums!
I have an old computer with Pentium I 133mhz and SoundBlaster awe32+Roland Scc1 and MT32 connected to scc1's midis port.
My problem is to find a way to connect the scc1 to a newer computer which has no isa slot, but only pci and so on.
I know that I could simply connect my Mt32 to a usb-midi adapter (this is at least what I've learned reading the forums), but then what will I do for my old Ssound Canvas?

thanks for every answer you can give me.

There is a device that I have seen being sold in ebay before, a PCI to ISA slot converter. But I haven't seen one again in a very very long time. That would be your best bet if you really want to bring along your SCC-1 to a newer motherboard with no ISA slots.

Another option would be to sell your SCC-1 and buy an SC-55 sound module. While this may not be the most economical way of solving the problem, it may be the only way if you don't find the abovementioned converter.

Mmmhh, I will think about that, it didn't come to my mind at first. Could be a good solution, do you think that someone is still interested in buying a scc1?

thanks

If you are a member of ebay, you can try to sell your SCC-1 there. You may put a reserve price on your auction in case you don't want to let go of your card under a certain amount. I am sure many people are still interested in purchasing it.

You can also try to sell it here in the Computer Classifieds section of QS.
