Is track 42 "Temple Of Tarna", the part where you are "judged" at the highest level of the temple?

You got me!  I've never heard the music before this morning (this is one of the MIDI files Alistair sent), and never ventured to this scene when playing the game.  If I did, I have absolutely no memory of it.

There's also another version of Uhura's music I'll probably record.  As far as I can tell, the only difference is the addition of percussion.  The "Uhura" version currently posted has some bongos I just threw in because I thought it needed something.)

I remember when you go into the very highest level of the temple, you get kicked out unless you have "the gem".  If you do have the gem then you are judged.  You drink something the priestess gives you, and pass out.  I think that is when track 42 comes in.

Otherwise it may just be for when you enter that part of the temple... but I'm thinking it plays after you've passed out and go through the sequence of being judged.

Maybe Alistair can answer this?

I also suspect that Track 42 includes the "successful" ending of that trippy sequence. Did the music change for the "bad" ending, where you answered everything badly? It's been so long since I've played QFG3...

Hey guys,

Firstly, sorry for the late reply; been (and still am) sick all week. Tongue But on the bright side, I feel like a new man (not to be confused with the Larry 6 double entendre in the Health Spa).

Secondly, yeah, I sent Tom some QFG3 MIDI's earlier. Temple Of Tarna is a 5 minute piece (from memory- I really can't say for sure) with the first bit being the temple, the second being the dreamy sequence where you're drugged and interact with the Lioness Goddess, with regards to being 'judged worthy' of the prophecy. Basically the propechy being that you're the hero who puts an end to the darkness.. It's pretty hard to be judged unworthy, except if you're me who first time chose all the actions like 'you steal the money from the dying man' or 'you take all the swords', to see if there'd be some Sierra funny response- there wasn't. Tongue

I don't think I was necessarily 'judged worthy' to get that music. I'm pretty sure it played anyway, and I just waited, with the mouse at the top of the screen to pause the game so the Goddess wouldn't get angry and make me come back another time (which I think happens if you take too long; but I don't remember).

I'll answer any questions anyone has.. (really, about any Sierra piece).

Regards,
- Alistair

The later "Temple Of Tarna" (Lioness Goddess) theme I've posted is only the portion of music that hasn't already been included in a previous track; not a repeat of other temple themes already posted.

Another theme which I've never heard before (having never played as a thief) has been posted, too:  "Eluding The Guard."

...and that'll probably wrap it up for this soundtrack.

Isn't the Arne Saknoosen (Earth Pig) theme missing? Or is it buried in a nother track I haven't found?

Can you hum a few bars?  Smiley  Is that one of the Closing Credits themes?  If not, I don't know what the theme is.

It is indeed, right at the end of the closing themes (Track 40), but I also sent Tom the MIDI file of it, which he chose not to include.

Divide the tracks evenly and burn it on two CDs then. Smiley
My Sam & Max soundtrack is 131 minutes and I ended up putting it on two CDs too. Sometimes a game has too much music to fit on one CD. You could also remove the themes you don't like until you can fit it on one CD.

Yep, two CDs is the best way to go.  You'll find if you were to try to burn the complete QFG4 soundtrack onto a single CD it would not fit either.  However, it is divided on the download page into "Disc 1" and "Disc 2" sections, so it gives you a little more of a hint.

Actually for myself, some of the QFG3 themes don't appeal to me much, so I ended up taking the tracks I like best and just putting them onto a single CD.  This is not to say any of the tracks are not good quality - just my personal taste in music.  If you do want the complete QFG3 soundtrack on audio CD, it will need to be two discs as Zemus mentioned above.

Again, there's missing music and my lot of QFG3 stuff is about 100 minutes in all. Just include some SC-55 tracks and some old QS enhancement tracks, fills out a 2nd CD easily.
