The current selection of TIM2 music is fantastic, but there are several tracks missing.  What are the odds that Quest Studios will complete the sountrack?  Are there any other sources for a complete MIDI soundtrack?

Edit: The MIDI Song File List contains several TIM2GMx.MID files, under the heading "Sierra Soundtrack Files Currently Avaliable."  Where are they currently avaliable from?

My hard drive.  That list "was" (outdated, now) a list of all the MIDI files I've recorded over the years.  Tons more have been recorded, but never added to the list.  (I should just gid rid of it.)

I'll add the TIM2 soundtrack to my 'to-do' list, but I'll have to be honest; it's going to be a while.  I want to get the rest ofl the primary Sierra game soundtracks recorded, digitally, first...which is going to be a long process.

Ah, The Incredible Machine. Cheesy

One thing I always wanted to do was a triple 'TIM' CD with the best selections of Incredible Machine music. And there's PLENTY of good stuff.

And I have all the TIM MIDI's recorded, TIM1/Even More IM, TIM2, some of 'Toons', the special MIDI's from the newest 2001 TIM game..

Also have the digital CD soundtrack for TIM3 (which is TIM2 MIDI's, minus 4 of them, Space Theme, Blazooes, Grunge, and Tropical Pop, in amazingly updated digital form).

Wait a minute- XkyRauh. That name's awfully familiar.. Sonic MIDI's, maybe? I remember a really cool conversion of that really difficult TO convert Sonic CD 'UFO's' theme. Plus other music, possibly even from other games.. always meant to email you.

Woah, I got recognized... haha.  I did a lot of video game music interpretations when I was in high school--some of them were accurate, some of them were not so accurate (and not so good).  I'm glad you liked my Special Stage Sonic CD thing--that's a fun song.

Anyway, I know that I'd stumbled across some TIM2GM.zip a couple years back--and as far as I know, it was just a raw rip of the game MIDI, because I had to manually assign patch changes and such.  I'd be okay with that, if it's what you've got, and you've got the time to ZIP 'em up and email me. ( XkyRauh {at} gmail {dot} com )

No pressure, though--I realize you've got a lot to do.  Thanks for the swift reply!  :-)

I'm actually on holidays, or very nearly anyways. Might have the time to edit TIM files. Is TIM2 specifically what you want? And, do you want all the files? And and and, do you want them in Sound Canvss General MIDI format, GS, XG, or what?

And yes, huge fan of some of your old works/workings. There's more than just the one track, but I forget.. Smiley Must be my old 18-year old memory. Wink

General MIDI please, I'm not even worried about the patches being correct... raw is fun.  TIM2 alone is great--and if you have time to get TIM as well, I'd really appreciate it.  But please don't go out of your way for me... Thanks again!

Yeah, doing TIM1/Even More as well is no trouble, maybe 20 minutes' more or something negligible. Individual files, right? I don't want to bother with a 'complete soundtrack' if I don't have to..

The songs don't have to be edited into a single, long & large MIDI file.

I understand now.  Definitely don't need the complete soundtrack, then.  Individual files sound much easier--thank you!

You're no bother. Tongue

Actually, when I saw this section had a new post, I immediately copied my TIM 1 and 2 collections onto disk in anticipation of this post.

The filenames will just be, like, 'tim1.mid'- bcause it's kinda hard to fit names like 'Play A Set', and especially names like 'Buncing Over The Mort', 'Jack Says- Hi Bob', etc etc. into 8 letters.

I'll try and get on it later this week.

hi, my first post here...
just couldnt bring myself to not register/post when i saw this!
are you really gonna complete the TIM (1) soundtrack now... AWESOME!
there are so many great tunes in that old game and i noticed that half (~) of them was missing in the QS archive.
(i remember that "level 30" had a really great track, hope that one will be included now)

this is really excellent. thanks for some great work!

Just to be clear, Quest Studios is NOT in the process of recording The Incredible Machine music.  The soundtrack is being offered by a member of this message board, not Quest Studios.

My current project is a digital version of The Colonel's Bequest soundtrack.

Thankyou Tom, I had been meaning to clarify the potential confusion myself. I was just going to email Xky- wasn't expecting anyone else to post, though Wink Yes, I'm not working for QuestStudios.

To anyone else that's interested about TIM 1/2 MIDI music (I will be looking at digital TIM tracks in the future), contact me via email. Smiley

Tom: actually i became a bit unsure when i noticed Alistair had posted several thousands of msges in this forum, so i started to believe he was a "QS crew" member, more or less.

Alistair: actually im mostly interrested in the midi files, as im gonna put them as ringtones (among other things) for my mobile... but if u have top-notch midihardware (incl. great instrumentsound, and a great voice/channel mixer... and some (pro) reverb would be nice too) i wouldnt mind some digitized versions at all, to say the least

btw, am i supposed to mail you if i want the midifiles?
if its about how to transfer the files you can upload them to me on this address if its ok...
http://ftp://upload:upload@82.182.135.177/
either with a ftp client or internet explorer (firefox dont work)

Yes, I often wondered if such confusion would ever eventuate. I have a vested interest in what goes on here (Tom releasing great quality CD's as he has lately, for one), and I learn here.

Ah, cool. Smiley Can see how TIM1 music would make ringtones.. (Though I would never put a Sierra 'ringtone' on my phone. In the future I may put a WAV/MP3 though..)

Yes, a large TIM collection (including at least TIM1->3), spanning various CD's, is something I've always wanted to do. Will get on it sometime..

Well, email me, or visit my own message board (check my profile for my site). No, transferring is no problem.
