I started making this soundtrack for a quite interesting adventure game (midevil/magic/castles/wizards/etc) that is now indefinitely postponed. They still want to make the game, but it won't be for quite a while, I imagine. Thought I'd post what beta tunes I had here for you all to comment on if you so wish Wink. I'm always looking to improve my ability. Maybe there's tips that some can give me as well. These are a little over a year old, I think, and some are recorded without a metronome so as to just lay the track down and I never got around to re-recording it properly. These were recorded with an MT-200 sound module and some were recorded with the Win 3.1 Cakewalk Professional.

Hero's Theme (would be versatile to use the same theme in different situations)
The Castle
The King's Theme
A Town
Main Theme Dramatic Slow Version - A slower dramatic version of the main theme (which I finished but never recorded).
Illusions - This started out being for the game, but I don't know if I'm going to use it in it anymore...I might use some of it. I'm now incorporating it into a personal project.

Way to go, Brandon....Nice, but I'd expect no less from you.  Smiley   Shame about the game, though.

These sound great!  I agree, too bad about the game.  There have been many volunteer projects started and unfortunately never finished.  Often there is just not enough time for everything.  Thanks for sharing the music.

Thanks a lot, guys. Guess that means I'm not that bad after all Cheesy. Nah I'm kidding, I'm that bad.

Ya it's too bad about the game. The story was coming along well. They wrote a whole back story before they even began writing the main story. It seemed very professionally done and would have gone somewhere. Oh well, it still will I'm sure, when they have time.

They are, indeed, very good!

Were they really done with the MT-200 only? The first theme's guitar is superb!

Yes the MT-200 only. I played it on the nylon guitar instrument and then copied it in another channel and used the steel guitar instrument for that one so they play at the same time and panned one a little to the left and one a little to the right. And it worked! Sounds more realistic. Those guitar fret noises are horribly placed, though I think.

EDIT: Here's something else. It's a few beta versions of the fanfare of the name we were going under. We went through a few names actually. Pegasus Interactive, Odyssey Entertainment, and Chimaera Entertainment.

Version 1
Version 2
Version 3
Version 4

The project director wanted a sort of cross between the first DreamWorks theme and the original Sierra fanfare, but he definitely wanted a heavy inspiration of the Sierra fanfare to have that 'back to the old days' kind of feel, which is why they sound so much like Sierra.

The 3rd version sounds a lot like the Sierra fanfare, that's for sure.

Great work, MusicallyInspired!  The tunes make for a great ambience, and I guess that the game would be worthy enough only for the music Wink

Keep on making good music, man.
