I need to buy something like what is shown in the sites below, essentially an A/B switchbox for midi.  As these products are discontinued, where can I buy economical units that do the same thing (1x2 only).

You can't get what you want just with MIDI-Thru on your devices?

You might look into Roland's MPU-105. It has one MIDI In, and five MIDI Outs, which are push-button selectable. Kind of a cool little box. I think I have one of these somewhere...

Found it. Let me know if you need a photo to see what it looks like, otherwise, search for a photo of the MPU-104, which looks nearly identical.

Are you a collector or dealer, or do you just enjoy having tons of stuff lying around?

The reason why is that the only device that has a midi thru is my CM-64, which must be turned on for the midi thru to function.  My MPU-401/AT + SCB-55 and my CM-64 will be output to the same speakers, but I will only output one device at a time.  If I send the midi destined for the MPU-401/AT + SCB-55 through the CM-64, the CM-64 will also output very wrong sound and vice versa.

Perhapsn an audio switch box might be better, if it can properly suppress the audio signal of the module that I don't want to hear so that it doesn't interfere with the sound I do want to hear.  Anyone know where I can find one of those.

Bona fide Packrat. The MPU-105 was replaced with a MOTU MTPII, and like many other unused items, went into the closet.

I use one of these, but they have been discontinued:

This will do for my needs:

It should not degrade the sound quality, I hope.
