In the About menu of the floppy version of KQ6 (for the PC, I don't know about non-PC releases), there's one menu option that's missing from the CD version - the option to play a short sample of the theme song 'Girl in the Tower'. In my copy of the game, the sample ends with horrible distorted noise. I always wondered if this was intentional, or it's because of an error or something on my diskettes. Anyone knows? Or has an original copy of the floppy version and don't mind checking?

Thanks

No noise here (other than the song itself).

Yeah, it was kind of obvious that my RESOURCE.AUD is fcuked. It's weird that it didn't affect other sounds in the game.

By the way, can you tell me what is the extension of the RESOURCE.000 when it's still devided to diskettes?

Thanks.

For some reason, all of the various abandonware copies of KQ6 floppy are different from one another, file-wise; some have *.SYN files, *.TEX files, and even *.SEQ files that other copies don't have. So, the best thing to find is a pre-installation copy that is still devided to diskettes. However, maybe it would be enough for me just to replace the RESOURCE.AUD file of my copy instead of the entire copy.

.SEQ files are the low-fi versions of the introduction sequence.

With regards to KQ6, I'd download the CD version, since it's on the web now. But if you msut play the disk version, it's even easier to find good downloads of.

I already have the CD version. I also had the floppy version, but with a slightly corrupted RESOURCE.AUD, so I wanted a new copy. Yes, there are many abandonware copies of KQ6 floppy, but like I said above, for some reason they differ in the file contents, which is a little frustrating.
