You live in the world's richest country... And you have money for like 20 loaves of bread... This makes me feel strange... very strange...

by the way - why it doesn't matter for you whether you buy one of these:
Roland SCC-1
Roland SC-55
Roland SC-88
Roland SC-88 Pro
Yamaha DB50XG
Yamaha SW60XG

or one of these:

Roland MT-32
Roland LAPC-1

These two groups are completely different! So what do you need the card/module for? Maybe you don't need to buy anything. The first group is nicely emulated by software synthesizers: Roland Virtual Sound Canvas, Yamaha SoftSynthesizer S-YXG100plus.
The second group is also somehow emulated, but not in a very good way, but that is also something, for free Wink

I found the emulated versions of the Sound Canvas lacking quality, and seemed to be "off" in a certain way. I already have a Yamaha sound card, but it has a 2MB wave table, not the 4MB.

Also, I've been offered a Roland CM300 for $50 including shipping. I've been told the CM300 is basically an MT-32 but with no LCD/buttons?

No, the CM-300 is like an SC-55 actually, but with no LCD display or other buttons.

The CM-32L robertmo linked to is like the MT-32 but with no LCD/buttons.

SC-55 - One of the things I'm looking for (and have heard examples of some of my games with it, and I think it sounds fantastic).

Last question, is the power adapter universal (meaning it ranges from 100-240v) or is it set to one voltage? If so this may be a problem.

AFAIK, the CM-300 like all CM modules uses an external 9V adapter. There shouldn't be a problem using a local 9V adapter as long as you make sure it complies with the rest of the required parameters. (700 ma, I think, and other characteristics).

I'll probably take up on this offer then. Thanks  Smiley
