I have Winamp and Media Monkey.

From my current understanding, neither of them can send sysex information to my MT-32.

I am looking for a great MIDI player that can handle the sysex... just want to listen to some of the great "oldies but goodies" and maybe record them into Cool Edit Pro

Thanks for the help.

try vanBasco's MIDI player. It's the best MIDI player around, IMO, and it's totally free.

I've been using it for years.

...And yes, it can handle sysex messages.

I actually started to use that since Winamp kept crashing when playing MIDI files. I find it's absolutely brilliant, especially that it's GS & XG compatible too.

I've played MT-32 files through MegaMID. Err... Hmm... I don't know for sure that it does send MT 32 sysex commands, though. I know that it does send other sysex commands, though. It's also neat because you can goof with instruments on the fly-- you can't queue up midi files in the windows version, though :-(

I am gonna give VanBasco a shot, too, though. Smiley

Windows Media Player can send embedded sysex data in a midi file without a problem.  I am sure most other players can do the same.  Sending sysex data in a separate file is another matter.
