I remember playing KQ4 when it was new. I only had an Adlib card then but back in those days it was fantastic. I was the envy of my friends who only had PC speakers as sound options. If you feel up to it Ari, I would like a GS conversion both in MIDI and MP3/OGG formats. I'd like a trip down memory lane once again. |

The strings are weird in the finale - they don't have the 5th interval that the "Soundtrack" patch has, which I thought sounded weird. Could you add the 5th interval to the strings, instead of just chaging patches? Thanks. |

:?: What I meant was that the MT-32's sountrack patch (and every other device with the soundtrack patch) plays two notes when you press a key, and these two notes are a fifth inteval apart from each other... Ari's version of the finale lacks the second note - the note that's one fifth interval higher than the bottom note. Instead of playing both of the notes, Ari's version just plays the bottom note, suggesting that he merely changed patches. IMO, Soundtrack was used for a reason, and if the composer didn't want to play fifths, he wouldn't have used soundtrack, and Ari's conversion therefore isn't accurate. |

I'm sorry, but I don't think I have the patience to work on it any further. I think the strings are a pretty good substitute for the "soundtrack" patch. They change the entire theme as it is.
Anyway, lets think how I'd go about doing this if I did decide to add a 5th interval.
I'd probably need to duplicate the whole track, then change the new track to a higher key. What key should that be?

I personally don't like how the track sounds on the SC-55, I'd like to see an XG or 8820/50 conversion. Maybe I'll do it myself, since KQ4's music is kind of a crappi-fied version of Kyrandia 1's music (which I'm working on now).
