Is the "New Uploads" thread no more?

Or am I not seeing it because of some other reason...?

No, it's still there.  I just don't know how to use it.  That is, the "groups" didn't transfer quite right in terms of permissions.  I'm still learning this system.  All FULL members should have access to the New Uploads category.  When I figure out how to do that, they will. 

In fact, Gary...gortmertl0, could you try accessing the New Uploads forum again and let me know if you can?  You should probably refresh your cache before you do.  I think I fixed it.

"Associate Members" don't see the "New Uploads" forum, nor the "Moderators Forum".  They only see what they have access to.  The SMF board uses two terms to define Members:  phpMembers, and Members.  I just enabled phpMembers for the New Uploads forum.  Since you're a full member, you should see the New Uploads forum now.

Can ANYONE who's a FULL MEMBER (50 or more posts) see the NEW UPLOADS forum at the bottom of the main forum index page, besides Luke and Ari?

I do not see it on the main forum index.  the last item for me before the Info Center section is Computer Classifieds.

That's because you're still an "Associate Member", having less than 50 total posts.  The New Uploads area is sort of a first peek bonus for full members -- those with 50 or more posts -- where they have early access to new uploads and such.  A little reward, as it were, for their participation.
