I believe Alistair's brought this up before, but I've never visited the site before tonight.  Interesting stuff.  I feel kind of...honored.  I mean, he's accepted my comments about his songs and all...and reproduced my QFG3 MIDI page...

I've visited it a few times. The man's an absolute star. Braymen and Seibert are nice guys as well. But Rudy wins.. just a music-lover who's been involved with many important computer music developments and committees. Sent me a lot of stuff. Told me stories about Sierra..

He hosted the QuestStudios page because it remains the leading authority for QFG (well, all Sierra) music. QFG3 obviously being his 'thang'..

He was always really dissapointed about people underrating QFG3's music though, and for example no QuestStudios CD.

OH- by the way Tom- what happened to HOC? (Don't know why I just remembered there.)

First I just want to say that I really love the QFG3 music and was surprised to read here that it was apparantly 'underrated'. The music from the QFG series got into my brain at a tender age and i'm still yet to hear anything really like it. In fact I was wondering if anyone knows what some direct influences for the music were? QFG1 and 2 both have some really strong tunes, but are mostly pretty standard. In QFG4 I can hear Angelo Badalamenti and Goblin among other things. But QFG3 seems the most original and daring to me. Probably why the masses were disappointed  Roll Eyes.

I agree with you, Adam.  For years, I didn't care much for the QFG3 soundtrack.  But after working with it, editing and presenting it in a 'digital format', I really began to appreciate Rudy's work.  There are a lot of multi-layered peices that I thought were very clever and original.  The style is very different (and very appropriate) from the two previous games.  It's now one of my favorite Sierra soundtracks.
